The episodes of the Japanese anime series Inuyasha are based on the first 36 volumes of the manga series of the same title by Rumiko Takahashi.[1] The series follows half-demonInuyasha and a high school girl Kagome Higurashi on a journey, alongside their friends, a young fox demon, Shippo; a lecherous monk, Miroku; a demon slayer, Sango; and a demon cat, Kirara, to obtain the fragments of the shattered Jewel of Four Souls, a powerful jewel that had been hidden inside Kagome's body, and keep the shards from being used for evil, including by the half-demon Naraku.

The English dub of the series aired on Cartoon Network's programming block, Adult Swim, from August 31, 2002 through October 27, 2006. In Canada, the series aired on YTV.

A second anime series, Inuyasha: The Final Act, premiered on October 3, 2009 and covers the final volumes of the manga series.[2][3][4]

Cerita berawal dari seorang Hanyo (manusia setengah siluman) bernama Inuyasha yang menginginkan kekuatan Bola Shikon no Tama (Bola Empat Arwah), agar bisa berubah menjadi siluman seutuhnya. Tentu saja bola Shikon no Tama ini bukanlah bola sembarangan, melainkan bola suci yang dijaga oleh seorang Miko (Seorang Pendeta) bernama Kikyo. Inuyasha mencoba mengambil bola tersebut dari tangan Kikyo, kontan itu membuat Kikyo beram dan menyegel Inuyasha di pohon keramat. 50 tahun berlalu setelah meninggalnya Kikyo, bola Shikon no Tama tersebut kembali dibawa oleh seorang gadis bernama Kagome. Dari sinilah awal mula pertemuan antara Kagome dan Inuyasha.
