جسارت فالاچى در حين و بعد از مصاحبه هايش مثال زدنى است. از هر درى كه بخواهد سوال مى پرسد، روى هر موضوعى كه بخواهد جوابش را كامل و واضح بداند، پافشارى مي كند و دست آخر راجع به شخصيتى كه روبرويش نشسته قضاوت مى كند، چون هيچ وقت نخواسته مثل يك ضبط صوت فقط كلام را ضبط كند بدون ارايه ى يك تحليل يا دست كم يك نظر شخصى...عواقب مصاحبه هايش را پيگيرى ميكند و به هيچ وجه حاضر نيست جمله اى از حرف هاى ادمى كه روبرويش نشسته را حذف كند يا بگويد چنين حرف هايى زده نشده. حتى اگر به خاطر آن حرف ها كشورها به هم بريزن...more

Nie lubię tak długich książek. Zapału do ich czytania starcza mi z zasady na ok. 200 pierwszych stron; potem urok nowości się wyczerpuje, a końca nawet nie widać. Przez kolejne strony przedzieram się w żółwim tempie i z zerową motywacją. Dopiero w okolicach 60% objętości zaczynam wierzyć, że kiedyś jednak uda mi się daną cegłę skończyć, a ostatnie rozdziały czytam już sprintem - nieraz nawet z żalem, że docieram już do końca tak wspaniałej książki.

Forgot how important this author/book was to me in my late teens/early twenties until today when I saw her name pop up in a column in the Chron. She's one of the reasons I went to J school, although I realized later it wasn't a good career choice for me.

Great piece of history presented in an interesting way by sharp written interviews. Oriana seems to be very clever and fair journalist, what can't be said often.
Fantastic book with insightful interviews. Reading them almost half a century later makes them that more interesting.

An excellent collection of some of the most influential interviews throughout the history. Perusing over the pages, one is filled with a combination of feelings; love, hatred, sympathy, and surprise, and agony. It's hard to believe that some events over the history have actually happened and how world leaders of 70s appeared like gods who could save and claims millions of lives.

I read this book in 1976, in thick of the revolution. I agreed and enjoyed everything she said. 37 years later, I was re-arranging my books and found this TRASH again. I am so sorry in my youth and naivete, I believed how she described the Shah of Iran. I was and still am anti-Shah's policies, but I hate liars even more.
