Hi, my problem is:
Windows 8.1 loses connectivity to Internet randomly, but the local network always operational, this happens on Ethernet and Wi-Fi
Devices:
Surface Pro
2 Laptops
1 PC
1 Lumia WP7
2 Lumia WP8
Behavior Before 8.1:
No problem with the same router, the Internet never was lost on any device

Behavior After 8.1
The problem started on the Surface, laptops and PC, using RTM and latest updates, latest drivers as well, fresh installs on Surface and the PC, updated on both laptops.
The WP devices seems to have no problems on connectivity
I have taken the Surface to my work where there is a completely different router and the connection is always fine.

My ISP even switched my old router with a new one (same model) problem persists, with the old router I even restored to factory defaults, no luck.
The only way to make the Internet connectivity come back again when it's lost is to either restart the router or unplug and plug the Ethernet cable or switch wi-fi off and on or disable and enable the network adapter, but just to lose Internet once again after a random time.
So clearly this is a problem of Windows 8.1 and this particular home router not understanding each other sometimes!
Strangely enough, I have noticed that having the PC on high performance mode as the time of this post (about 1 hour after enabling), the PC is still connected, wondering if it will keep it up EDIT: it did not, it randomly stops. I have found that using P2P software the connection is always fine, it seems to be a problem with TCP connections maybe.
So, does anybody knows why is this happening??
